WHY WE WANT TO HIRE YOU

Under the supervision of general management, you will be called upon to oversee a wide range of programs for which you will be responsible for execution and success. In this new position at GRAME, you will use your strong strategic sense, teamwork skills and ability to lead and support human resources to ensure the success, impact and sustainability of the projects undertaken at GRAME.

  • Plan, organize, direct and monitor the budget for most of GRAME’s programs:
    • Set program objectives in line with corporate goals;
    • Validate and monitor project charters, communication plans and impact measurement protocols for projects and programs;
    • Ensure that GRAME’s various programs are strategically interlinked with each other and with those of current and potential partners, where appropriate;
    • Provide support to coordinators and project managers;
    • Know the terms and conditions of funding and partnership agreements, and ensure that they are respected;
    • Ensure the preparation of service offers, funding agreements, partnership applications and agreements, and reports and balance sheets, as required;
    • Ensure that projects run smoothly and are sustainable, including financially.
  • Lead the search for funding for projects and programs under its responsibility;
  • Develop, deploy, optimize and ensure the proper use of internal tools and procedures, particularly those relating to project management;
  • Supervise program coordinators and other human resources reporting to this position;
  • Keep senior management informed of project progress, challenges and opportunities;
  • Advise senior management on the organization’s strategies;
  • Represent GRAME at various events and on different committees;
  • Maintain close collaboration with partners;
  • Take part in GRAME’s management and steering committees.

YOU HAVE THIS KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or environmental management (or other related field).
  • Proven experience in program leadership, coordination or multi-project management;
  • Experience and skills in human resources management;
  • Excellent knowledge of project management, evaluation techniques, data analysis and budgeting;

WHY WE WANT TO HIRE YOU

Under the supervision of the Lachine eco-neighborhood coordinator, and within established budgets, the person hired will be responsible for carrying out two mandates related to urban agriculture, biodiversity and education: leading the Royal Dixie collective garden in Dorval and managing the Entreprendre, de la terre à l’assiette (ETA) project in Lachine. Here are the different tasks:

  • Take charge of organizing and leading gardening sessions at the Royal Dixie garden, including workshops and one-off events:
  • Develop, open, animate, maintain and close the collective garden;
  • Follow up weekly in a logbook, including participation, harvests and other highlights;
  • Maintain regular contact with Cité de Dorval management, particularly regarding budget and communications;
  • Manage the materials budget, organize and make the necessary purchases;
  • Supervise the trainee, green patrols and volunteers.
  • Take charge of the ETA project:
    • Organize workshops and complementary activities with students and volunteers, in collaboration with our partners: COVIQ, Passeport pour ma réussite (CJE), École Dalbé-Viau and Lakeside Academy;
    • In collaboration with the project coordinators, draw up a detailed work plan (schedule);
    • Follow up weekly in a logbook;
    • Manage the budget for materials, organize and make the necessary purchases;
    • Supervise students, green patrols and volunteers
    • Ensure proper communication by collaborating with the communications team;
    • Produce year-end reports for both mandates, including impact measurements and recommendations.

YOU HAVE THIS KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in project management;
  • A 1er or equivalent in biology or other related fields (horticulture and/or market gardening);
  • Intermediate level of English (good oral and written comprehension);
  • Class 5 driving license;
  • Great sense of autonomy and resourcefulness;
  • Personnel management skills;
  • Knowledge and experience in urban agriculture, horticulture and landscaping:
  • Experience and facility in group facilitation ;
  • A good sense of responsibility to bring a project to a successful conclusion, including administrative tasks such as preparing work plans and writing reports ;
  • Ability to communicate your knowledge of horticulture, food and the environment to young people and adults.

Under the supervision of the Sustainable Mobility Project Manager, and in collaboration with internal and external colleagues, you will be called upon to work on multiple mandates within our flagship sustainable mobility project, Le Bon Mouv’.

Intervention and awareness-raising project on sustainable mobility (Le Bon Mouv’)

This project, which supports households in their modal shift and raises awareness of sustainable mobility among the general public, is entering its second year. The project officer will be required to travel in Lachine and the Sud-Ouest (sometimes on weekends and evenings) to carry out the following main tasks:

Supporting households in their modal shift

  • Carry out support activities for households throughout the entire process (from the initial meeting to the end of the journey), according to an established procedure;
  • Follow-up with participants (answer questions, send reminders, help raise any obstacles they may encounter along the way, etc.).
  • Research and propose sustainable mobility solutions adapted to the realities and needs of the individuals and organizations participating in the program;

Animation and awareness-raising

  • Facilitate workshops, presentations and information kiosks, adapting content to target audiences and contexts.
  • Promote the sustainable mobility options available in the areas of intervention through the creation of distribution tools and activities (door-to-door);
  • Create content to raise awareness of sustainable mobility and promote activities (e.g., publication for the Facebook group of participating households, newsletter, short videos).

Logistics coordination

  • Coordinate the loan of bicycles and electric bikes to participants (planning, follow-up, pre- and post-loan equipment inspection);
  • Collaborate with partner organizations in hosting and implementing workshops and awareness-raising activities.

Continuous improvement and assessment

  • Contribute to data collection and monitoring of project indicators;
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of the support process, tools and procedures;
  • Assist with reporting to partners and donors (drafting, monitoring targets and budgets)

Other mandates

  • Together with the Sustainable Mobility Project Manager, represent GRAME on various committees and in its advocacy activities on sustainable mobility;

YOU HAVE THIS KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, land use planning, logistics, project management, environment or other relevant field, or equivalent (may be in progress and counted as an internship);
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Versatility, organization and autonomy;
  • Good command of French and good general understanding of spoken and read English (intermediate);
  • Ability to get around easily in the Lachine and Sud-Ouest area.
